JENN RAPP is directing the Australian Tour of SPANK! THE FIFTY SHADES PARODY, a three-person comedy musical originally directed by Jim Millan. For NYMF 2012, she directed/choreographed PRISON DANCER, for which she won an Excellence in Choreography award. She worked on three Off-Broadway musicals—BARE, CARRIE, and LUCKY GUY—WINNER TAKE ALL for FringeNYC and an original rock musical, OUTLAWS, for NYMF 2011. Twice a year she boards a cruise ship to direct & choreograph the ongoing NCL production of LE CIRQUE BIJOU, a mix of aerial circus choreography and dance. She has extensive experience mounting national and international tours of popular TV cartoon characters, putting the likes of Dora the Explorer, Spongebob Squarepants, Thomas the Train, Nemo and Scooby-Doo into original musical theatre productions. She has traveled to numerous countries, working for companies such as Dreamworks, Nickelodeon, Disney Creative Entertainment and Warner Brothers Entertainment. She's worked with casts in English, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, German, Korean, Cantonese, Mandarin, Hebrew and French. As a choreographer, she has experience in a wide variety of theatrical formats: Off-Broadway, national tours, large-scale musical revues, commercials, videos and even a musical investment seminar. These shows reflect her skills in a variety of dance styles including hip-hop, jazz, whack, tap, contemporary, modern, partnering and some comedically infused heavy metal thrashing. Overall, she focuses on the storytelling in dance, mixing the styles most suited to the story and characters. She is the ongoing choreographer for the UK and Latin American tours of MADAGASCAR LIVE!. |
